Minivan Madness Debuts at Round Five of Summer Drag & Brag
Round five of the Summer Drag & Brag Series saw the debut of Minivan Madness at the Bellagio of drag strips on Wednesday evening. Wes Kiser in his 2009 Toyota Sienna beat out Phil Bonifield in a 2004 Chrysler Van in the final round to take home the $100 Food Lion gift card.
Tyler Matthews from Lewisville, N.C. took home the honors for Best Reaction Time (.005 seconds) on his 2006 Yamaha motorcycle. The Best Elapsed Time (7.172 seconds) went to Scott Moore of Mooresville, N.C. in his 2010 Mike Bos 285” dragster and Top Speed (139.73 mph) went to Shawn McCrodden from Vale, N.C in his 2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4. Miguel Martinez Sr. of Clover, S.C. had the Best Burnout in his 1993 Chevrolet Pickup, while Justin Nay of Monroe, N.C received Best in Show for his 1966 Plymouth Barracuda. Russell Pryor earned the Iron Man award for making 25 passes during the evening in his 2003 Mercury Marauder. Be sure to check out the photo galleries to see what you missed!
Next week, spectator gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m.! General admission is just $5 for adults, while kids 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
